Synopsis  (from Goodreads):
Ashley Smith spent her life being shipped from one family member to the next. When Ashley’s estranged father dies, she finally has the money to go to college and the chance to find a place where she belongs.

Within days, Ashley has found the one thing she’s always longed for – a family. She may have even found love. There’s only one problem. Ashley likes Colin…a lot, but so does Randi, and everyone likes Randi. Randi’s approval is the single easiest way to belong. Falling in love with Randi’s crush is the single easiest way to find oneself on the outside for the next three years.

When Ashley arrived at college, she never dreamed she’d find this kind of happiness. Will she allow herself to hold on to this happiness, and Colin, or will her fear of losing her friends, the only friends she’s ever known, dictate her actions?

My Review:
Accepted is a very compelling story. I very much enjoyed reading the novel a lot, it was very emotional to read. Reading all about Ashley's life, how she does not have a family to care for her, how she is all alone in the world, calling her dorm room her “home” that was very sad to read. I wanted to jump in the story and just hug and say “everything is going to be okay”.

But I so badly wanted to slap her upside the head for using Randi as an excuse to not get close to Colin. Randi is Ashley’s friend and Randi likes Colin a lot so Ashley doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. This matter made the book have a high school drama feel to it instead of the college experience. Because in college people couldn't care less what you’re doing, who you like, I was kind of upset by this drama but it mostly happened at the beginning of the story.

I very much loved reading about Colin and Ashley’s hang out sessions. I wanted more of them cause I was enjoying the things they would do or just plain and simple hanging out more with one another. Loved how understanding Colin could be with Ashley and how he was always making her feel better and making her feel wanted. All in all this is a great and amazing novel which I highly recommend others to buy borrow and read.
