Author Bio:

Shea Berkley started out writing nonfiction (not so fun) and quickly moved into fiction (totally fun), and knew she'd found her calling. (Her family was thrilled she'd found friends to play with even if they weren't technically real.) She's still pleasantly surprised people are willing to pay to read her stories. Besides writing, her many diversions include kickboxing, reading awesome books and hanging out with her loud and rambunctious family. With five kids (all girls), her biggest job is to make sure the little darlings don't harass the neighbors and then play dumb when the cops come knocking on her door.

And Tenley has secrets of her own that could make Hayden run away forever. When Tenley asks Hayden to put a beautifully elaborate tattoo across her back, the two form what they thought was an unshakeable bond. But when Tenley's past shows up on her doorstep, will Hayden stand by her side...or run?

My Review:
This book was certainly a page turner for me, you get so captivated that sometimes you do not even realise how long it really is. I was never really fond of tattoos or body piercing, until I had the chance at reading this book, but the detail described of Hayden’s tattoos, showed that the author is definitely a fan of tattooing. It is pretty obvious when an author does not do proper research, this author definitely knows her stuff and what she is writing about. Even though I have never once stepped foot in a tattoo parlor the descriptions were so perfectly written that I felt like I was standing in one.

When have a dual point of view makes it less surprising for you, you get to know so much about both character. I wonder what it would be like if it was told just from one person’s point of view, but I have to say that I did not really see the ending coming at all. And what shocked the sxxt out of me. It is a good ending that leaves wanting and waiting for more in the next book.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
After seventeen-year-old Haley Sullivan meets a mysterious stranger who plays by his own rules, she's more than determined to learn every trick of the trade from the master himself. But her dream-chasing mentor disappears after that night, and according to the local newspapers, he's been dead for years. Knowing he's very much alive, Haley enlists best friend Linzi to join her on a scavenger-hunt-style road trip that ultimately lands them in the surf town of Crescent Cove, California. Mystery guy is no mystery here, though – he's Colby Taylor, the west coast's biggest professional surfer.

If Haley wants to talk to the wave rider again, she'll have to get past his four intimidating bodyguards who are highly skilled in the business of sending starstruck fangirls back to where they belong. Haley is up for the challenge if it means chasing her dreams and escaping the perfectly corporate future that's been planned for her. But dealing with these bodyguards isn't exactly what Haley imagined it'd be. Sure, being thrown off a jet ski sucks, but falling in love with one of them might just be worse.

My Review:
This book was really good, I really did enjoy reading it. It was full of adventure and fun moments, memories to be kept always. It was a challenge because chasing someone who you didn’t even know is like hunting for treasure that can’t be found until someone helps you. I just can imagine every details of the book and I miss my beach days with my friends. Road trips are always the best when you’re either with family or friends. I kind of know the feeling of not wanting to go back to reality.

This story is full of happy emotions that was one of the reasons why I enjoyed reading it, I loved the characters they were very friendly all except Colby/Spencer. If this ever happened in real life it would have been fun, I liked how the author created the story with twists and turn it was exciting especially with Vin in the mix.

But the unexpected love romance between 2 of the characters was really unexpected, I liked them both very much (stink the book ended). From one badass guy to this unreal romantic guy the next was good I think it suited him well and to the girl who went with her gut and chased her dream yet found her someone was worth reading the book.

Newly married Jessica Packwood is having a hard enough time feeling regal with her husband, Lucius, at her side. But when evidence in the murder of a powerful elder points to Lucius, sending him into solitary confinement, Jessica is suddenly on her own. Determined to clear her husband's name, Jessica launches into a full-scale investigation, but hallucinations and nightmares of betrayal keep getting in her way. Jessica knows that with no blood to drink, Lucius's time is running out. Can she figure out who the real killer is —and whom she can trust— before it's too late?

My Review:
Beth Fantaskey did an amazing job on picking up where she ended things in Jessica’s Guide To Dating The Dark Side. Everything in this book I fell in love with. When you start reading you are literally thrown in the deep end right into the plot of power, now that her marriage to Lucius is over with Jessica is learning to reign as Queen. She is learning the laws, language and the how to of being a good Queen to her people. I like that Jessica is showing her flaws, but she is having trouble in learning in what she needs to do. I also like that he does not hide it but really stresses over it. But with all the stressing Jessica and Lucius make a great team. That is what a real marriage is all about, working together, having each other’s back no matter what life throws at you?

It was amazing to see the growth of each character in the book, Jessica starts off rocky not really sure how to stand on her own 2 feet always relying on Lucius. But now it is good to rely on your husband but there will be times where you have to eventually stand on you 2 feet without the help. Soon as trouble rose Jessica took everything in with amazing strength, she was very stressed and tired but she knew what was needed to be done. You have to admire her ability to keep a straight face with all the death and trouble looming around her. But as always in the end Jessica is awesome at being a Queen in her own right.

Source: Purchased from Book Depository
Release Date: February 1st 2009
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal, Vampires, Romance, Fantasy, Supernatural

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
The undead can really screw up your senior year ...

Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica Packwood’s senior year “get-a-life” plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he’s her long-lost fiancé. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war—and save Lucius’s soul from eternal destruction.

My Review:
Jessica’s Guide To Dating On The Dark Side is very refreshing and a good change from what I normally read in my spare time. It is a book where our main characters are Vampires but one character just doesn’t know it yet, Jessica is a normal American teen that is until Lucius appears in her life and told her that she is his long lost fiancé and a Romanian Vampire Princess. Lucius is a vampire who has to bring and marry Jessica to save a war between Jessica’s family and Lucius’s family. The relationship between Lucius and Jessica was very intriguing to read about and I did not know where it would lead, if they were going to end up being together.

I liked the arranged marriage part because I have never read about that before, it made the book a little unique in its own way sort of. I was able to relate to Lucius and Jessica. There are a lot of twists and turns and surprises in this book, but it felt like you knew what was going to happen in the end anyway but it is still able to surprise in the end too, so it really doesn’t disappoint you any way possible.

Book Blitz: Neighbors With Benefits

Neighbors With Benefits by Marissa Clarke

Publisher: Entangled: Lovestruck
Release Date: June 30th 2015
Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Links: Goodreads | Amazon US | B&N

Synopsis:
A satisfying category romance from Entangled’s new Lovestruck imprint…

Love thy sexy jerk of a neighbor…

CEO Michael Anderson might be something of a “control freak.” Still, he’s not quite sure why his therapist thinks dogsitting will fix anything—especially since he and the canine share a kind of mutual loathing. And to make matters worse, a house sitter moves in next door disrupting his peace—and his dates—with the worst possible music at the worst possible time… every time.

Free-spirited artist Mia Argaropolis has settled into the perfect gig—housesitting in NYC’s Upper West Side while working as an art therapist. Too bad she’s stuck living next door to a bossy control freak with a penchant for calling building security when she blasts music to drown out the noises coming through his bedroom wall.

Post-apocalyptic dinner rolls that nearly take her kitchen with them, a douchebag ex, and a Shih Tzu with the personality of Godzilla attack Mia in one day, and her unlikely neighbor comes to the rescue. Like it was her fault. And now, somehow, they find themselves engaged? Both agree, this neighborly feud just got taken to a whole new level.

Excerpt:
“This shouldn’t happen…can’t happen.”
“Shouldn’t and can’t are very far apart, Mia. Which is it?”
“I can’t.” She could actually hear her own heartbeat. “No” wasn’t an answer Michael Anderson was accustomed to, but then, Mia wasn’t his usual fare. There had to be a way to make him understand. “If it were two years ago, we’d be naked on the floor of this car.”
He groaned.
“But I’m smarter now. Jason taught me to never eat french fries.”
His eyes narrowed at the mention of her ex. “What do french fries have to do with having sex with me?”
“Everything. See, you are the french fry. Delicious, salty, easy going down.”
He covered his face and groaned again. “Oh, God. Stop. You’re killing me.”
“But you’re terrible for me. The worst possible thing.”
“No. I’m not.”
“I need more than fast food, Michael. Like I told you last week on Bow Bridge, I need a true friend. Someone who wants me for me. Just like a french fry, you might be what I crave, but you’re not what I need as a regular diet to stay healthy.”
