My Review:
I had request this book because of its cover, it looked great and yes we shouldn’t judge any books by their covers but I could not help myself with this one, I just wanted to have it.
Ryleigh’s a 17 year old girl responsible for her younger sister with no other family to help her and she is desperately trying to protect her until she turns 18 and can become her legal guardian, her whole life changes one day while she is at an interview. An earthquake happens and she has got no idea that it was caused in order to get to her. But it doesn’t happen because when the man whom was sent to kill her and take her back, he sees that she is protecting a younger girl, he know for a fact he can’t fulfill his mission. That young man would be the first prince of Cymmera.
Jackson is his name, upon returning home he is banished to Earth for 3 months to prepare some kind of defense for his decision of not taking Ryleigh. At this point he is determined to protect Ryliegh and finds her and her sister Mia at a hospital, but apparently nowhere is safe for her it seems. Ambushed by his father’s advisor and his own mentor Kai, then attacked at Ryleigh’s house by the bad guy Daygan, they are running for their lives. But Jackson has been stripped of all his powers so it is up to Ryleigh to open a portal to his home and save herself, her sister and Jackson. Surprised when it works, once back at the castle Jackson learns his fate and they all learn about Ryleigh and Mia’s history also with their own. When Daygan attacks it is pretty obvious there is a traitor among them and Jackson’s father makes a decision that will seal Jackson’s future in case something should ever happen. During the ceremony though Ryleigh gets caught up in it too and is presented with her future. The battle rages on and it is hard to say how long it took because sometimes you would think it has been a long time. But then something happens that makes it seem so much shorter, but it ends with important loses on both sides and the threat of another traitor among Jackson’s own.
