ARC Review: Some Kind Of Magic

Some Kind Of Magic by Adrian Fogelin

232 pages, kindle edition
Source: Netgalley
Release Date: April 1st 2015
Genre: Young Adult

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
It's the summer before high school starts for Cass, Jemmie, Ben, and Justin, the neighborhood kids readers met in Crossing Jordan. Ben worries the break will be routine, until his little brother Cody finds a hat left by their missing uncle. The hat leads them to a lost house in the woods. They don't suspect the house with a tragic past might nudge them toward the future.

My Review:
This book Some Kind of Magic is something very special. Following a group of children the summer before they head to high school, they discover an abandoned house in the middle of an out of bounds area thanks to a magic hat.

The story is written beautifully and really draws you in. Little Cody just wants to be part of his big brother’s group of friends and when he discovers his missing uncle’s hat at the back of a closet, he transforms into Detective Dobbs (someone the group of kids listen to). With his new power so you could say, Cody leads his brother and all his friends to an abandoned forest area, following the hat’s instructions. In this area they find an abandoned house with a dreadful past.

We were taken on a journey along with the children as they delve into the houses past and uncover the truth that links the house to their family; all the hidden secrets coming to light. There is a great mystery to this story and the revelation at the end was very entirely unexpected, and revealed amazingly.

This book told a beautiful tale that young adult readers will enjoy. With the strong bonds of friends and lots of amazing bravery, the characters find a way into your hearts. This is definitely a book I would read again and again.

Author Bio:
When I was twelve I needed money. Money for what? Movie tickets, Beatles' records, cute shoes. But there was only one way a twelve-year-old girl in Princeton Junction, New Jersey could earn that kind of money. Babysitting.
Unfortunately, there were lots of cash-hungry twelve-year-old girls in my neighborhood and hardly any little kids. To beat out the competition each girl had an angle. One let the kids stay up late, another let them eat junk, a third let them watch whatever they wanted on TV.

Me? I told really scary stories. I knew how because I had practiced on my sister, telling her ghost stories in our pitch-dark room. Her favorite was one I learned from my mom. It was called “The Man With the Golden Arm.” After I had told it a gazillion times I began to change the body part. “The Man With the Golden Nose.” “The Man With the Golden Butt.” You get the idea.

But as a babysitter I needed more stories. Lots more stories. I started making them up.

Along one side of our neighborhood ran a skinny stream called Canoe Brook. At it’s widest, it was no more than three feet, but in my stories Canoe Brook became a dismal swamp inhabited by a ghost named Wilhelmina Willendorf. Poor Wilhelmina wasn’t a bad ghost. She just missed her kids who had drowned in the swamp. As a ghost, she was still looking for them, and when she couldn’t find them she came after the kids in the neighborhood (the kids I was babysitting), dragging them into the swamp to keep her company.

Sometimes I scared the kids so badly I was sure I would never work again—but then the phone would ring. “Can you baby sit tonight? Daniel wants you because you’re so scary!”

And that’s how I became a storyteller—and bought lots of cute shoes.

ARC Review: The Winner's Crime (The Winner's Trilogy #2)

The Winner's Crime (The Winner's Trilogy #2) by Marie Rutkoski

Publisher: Bloomsbury Publication Plc, 2015
416 pages, kindle edition
Source: Netgalley
Release Date: March 3rd 2015
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Romance, Dystopia
Links: Goodreads | Amazon US | Amazon AU | Amazon UK

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
The engagement of Lady Kestrel to Valoria’s crown prince is the event of a lifetime. It means one celebration after another: balls, fireworks, and revelry until dawn. But to Kestrel it means living in a cage of her own making. As the wedding approaches, she aches to tell Arin the truth about her engagement…if she could only trust him. Yet can she even trust herself? For—unknown to Arin—Kestrel is becoming a skilled practitioner of deceit. She's a spy passing information to Herran, and close to uncovering a shocking secret.

My Review:
With this book you have to read the first book to understand the second book. So before you pick up the second book look for the first book, I highly suggest you seek the first book out. But like the synopsis says, Kestrel is due to marry the Valoria prince and Arin has got just as much commitments himself trying to keep his newly free country a float. I do not know about you but the only I see is when I read this is that they weren’t together, and truthfully I thought that was sad fact of it is that for most of the book they aren’t together. But although it as lovely to read the stolen moments, once you get over the initial shock that they would not up close and personal for the majority of the book I actually started to like the idea. Yes I missed the romance and the banter between them but in the first book we saw them develop together, they grew perfectly around one another and it was just refreshing and interesting to see the type of people they were without one another at there side. It was a risky move but I honestly think it paid off.

Kestrel and Arin have seemed to lost their softy side and instead the situations they are put in and the things they must do to survivie have hardened them. Though we did have to sacrifice the romance to pave the way for noew characters, I was more than happy to. I love a romance as much as the next person and the romance in the first book was probably my favorite think about the story, I liked that even though Arin and Kestrel were separate we had some good character to fill the gap, we had Verex the prince and Risha the kidnapped eastern princess. They may never feel the giant whole left by our favorite Herrani, we are lucky enough to have the story spilt into a joint point of views so he is never really gone.

And overall like I have already said, I really did like this book. It was very different to the first because of the lack of romance but it really gives the rest of a story a chance to shine and Marie Rutkoski the opportunity to really build up everything else and that cliffhanger is going to have people climbing the walls until the next book is out.

My Rating:

Author Bio:
Marie Rutkoski is the author of several novels for children and young adults, including The Winner’s Curse (March 2014). She grew up in Bolingbrook, Illinois as the oldest of four children and decided early on that she was Someone Who Loved Books.

After attending the University of Iowa and living in Moscow and Prague, she studied Shakespeare at Harvard University, where she honed her skill in referring to herself in the third person.

Marie is now a professor of English literature at Brooklyn College, where she teaches Renaissance drama, children’s literature, and fiction writing. New York City is her home, and she thinks there must be birds of prey living in Washington Square Park; she can see large, wheeling wings from the window where she sits and writes. Marie has two small sons who try very hard to make friends with the family cat, only to be snubbed for the dark quiet of a closet. Marie can tie a double figure-eight knot with her eyes closed. She’s learning how to play the violin. She’s a sucker for fancy tea, and her favorite dessert is crème brulée. Or maybe sticky toffee pudding. Tough call.

ARC Review: Soul Crossed (Of Demons & Angels #1)

Soul Crossed (Of Demons & Angels #1) by Lisa Gail Green

Publisher: Full Fathom Five Digital, 2015
252 pages, kindle edition
Source: Netgalley
Release Date: February 25th 2015
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal, Fantasy
Links: Goodreads | Amazon US | Amazon AU | Amazon UK

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
One Demon. One Angel. One Soul.

Josh lived a reckless, selfish life, so upon his death, escaping the eternal torments of Hell by assuming the role of a powerful, soul-corrupting demon is an easy choice. His first soul assignment doesn’t seem too hard: the mortal Camden is already obsessed with weapons, pain, and torture. If only Josh wasn’t distracted by Cam's beautiful friend, Grace.

Grace never expected to die violently at age sixteen, but now she’s an Angel, responsible for saving a soul. She can already see past Camden’s earthly flaws, so the job should be be easy. If only that handsome, playboy Josh would stop getting in the way.

It’s forbidden for an Angel to be with a Demon, so if Josh and Grace stop resisting each other, the results would be disastrous.

And only one can claim Cam’s soul.

My Review:
There is a certain sense of things being reigned in to make Soul Crossed YA friendly, that could have exploded if written for an adult audience even if it was New Adult, and it might not have been so stymied. It certainly felt like it was trying to push that boundary in a few scenes and if the characters were just a few years older, there might have been some real depth to this book.

Dealing with all the issues of an sociopathic teenager is slightly hairy ground to be walking on, especially when they are actively being pushed into evil by one of the love interests. Really killing cats and torturing dogs makes me cringe, but it is an interesting concept that delves into quasi-religious type issues I am not equipped to handle as a pagan.

If you’re feeling forced to do evil things are they still evil? The jury is still out on the moral implications set in this book. It is another one of those books that push’s the bad boy as being ok, if he feels guilt for what he is done some of my previous posts have dealt with how I feel about this trope and suffice to say I am not really ok with it anymore in YA novels.

My Rating:

Author Bio:
Lisa Gail Green lives with her husband the rocket scientist and their three junior mad scientists in Southern California. She writes books so she can have an excuse to live in the fantasy world in her head. She likes to share these with readers so she's represented by the lovely Melissa Nasson of Rubin Pfeffer Content. She has a parrot but would most definitely get a werewolf for a pet if she weren't allergic.

Lisa loves YA. She believes with all her heart that teen readers are ready and willing to experience things that some adults have closed their minds to, that books are the safest way to explore, learn, and escape, and that imagination is the key to just about everything.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Photographer CJ Parker is a woman who has literally not gone outside for the past six months. She’s been hiding from the world, and from life, ever since an unimaginable tragedy forced her into seclusion.

On the one day where she decides to finally venture outside, she meets the mysterious billionaire, Asher Sloane. Dark-headed, magnetic, and gorgeous, Asher drips sex and animal magnetism. He draws CJ out of her shell and into the world, while showing her things that she never knew existed.

What CJ doesn’t know is that Asher has a dangerous past. Behind his beautiful blue eyes and confident demeanor lies dark secrets that, if they are brought to light, could mean the end of CJ and Asher’s relationship.

Will the exposure of Asher’s past destroy them?

Warning: This book has plenty of hot and steamy sex scenes featuring an alpha male who knows what he wants and knows exactly how to get it.

My Review:
The book by this author is my first try and I was in the middle with this book (didn’t love it, didn’t hate it) but the overall of the book held a lot of merit for a good storyline, but however Jacoby made a fatal flaw when introducing her main characters. the instalust between CJ and Asher was completely unrealistic especially since CJ is suffering from a traumatic event and hasn’t ventured outside in well over 6 months. The fact that her first attempt to reenter the outside world left her passed out from a panic attack and then she later woke in a stranger’s apartment on the other side of town was just over the top.

Separately these two character’s back stories were really well written. Jacoby’s reveal of CJ’s traumatic event was brilliantly delivered at just the right time providing readers with what I call the maximum impact. Her later exposure of Asher’s secrets were also very well delivered, however the time the 2 characters spent together was completely about sex and held no real attraction. I would have loved to see the characters have a gradual build to an intimate relationship rather than have CJ open herself up and the next thing you know, BAM.

My Rating:
Author Bio:

Well, I'm just a tad nutty in real life. A bit scattered, a bit of a dreamer, never together. I wanted to originally create a character based upon myself, because I felt that people could relate to somebody who is decidedly imperfect. And have her get the dreamboat man, because, let's face it, we all want that, right ladies? That was my inspiration for the story of Iris and Ryan in my Illusions books. Those novels were so well-received, that I just decided to keep on keeping on. Scotty, the current heroine in my Broken novels, is so much more together than myself. So it’s been fun to write her. And Nick has turned into a revelation – he seems to be a bit of a tough guy who is nothing but a womanizer, but I’ve found his soft side. I’m a little bit, ok a lot, in love with Nick and Ryan myself, and who wouldn’t be? I'm having the time of my life writing these books, and I want to keep on writing them until my fans decide that they've had enough!

My books all have things in common: they all combine a touch of mystery and intrigue with drama, love, and lots of hot sex. Some of the books have action and even some criminal elements in them. My current book, in fact, is my first book that would be classified as straight romantic suspense, although it also combines definite elements of the thriller genre! If you're in the market for a book that is fast-paced, where the heroes are beautiful and wealthy, and the heroines are strong, vulnerable and flawed, then try these books out!

Synopsis:
This Cinderella didn’t plan on a prince . . .

Kat MacTaggart is a girl who has a plan for everything—including her holiday ski trip to Monterra with her best friend. Everything is going according to plan until she finds herself careening out of control down a mountainside and being rescued by a guy who looks like Superman’s hotter Italian cousin.

HRH Prince Nico is intrigued by the woman he saved on the slopes and her refusal to date him. He offers Kat a deal—let him show her his country and he’ll pay her to write articles that will help Monterra’s tourism industry. Kat agrees, but given her past and lingering distrust of men, she has one condition—absolutely no kissing.

Thanks to the claims of a jealous British noblewoman and the schemes of a meddling paparazzo, Kat’s rule doesn’t seem to be a problem at first. But the more Kat gets to know Nico and the people around him, the harder it is to remember her keep-your-distance plan. Should she stick to it or risk everything for a chance at happily ever after?

Excerpt:
“A little light reading?” His accent was faint, and I couldn’t quite place it. Italian-ish. But I didn’t care enough to ask. I felt him standing next to my stuffed armchair, hovering, and sighed. What was it with European men? American guys didn’t give me the time of day. But over here I was like some kind of dude catnip.
I didn’t take my eyes off of my book. “Sorry, not interested.”
He moved away from me, sitting in an armchair next to mine. Well, I suppose this was what I got for hanging out in the lodge’s lobby. I should have stayed in my room until my best friend, Lemon, was ready to leave.
“You’re not interested in Shakespeare?” he asked. I could hear the amusement in his voice.
“I’m not interested in you.”
“Why not?” This guy just could not take a hint. I turned to look at him, ready to tell him off, and nearly choked.
Gorgeous was an understatement. Tall, athletic, high cheekbones, black hair, and blue eyes. Like Superman’s hotter Italian cousin. He was dressed for a day of skiing—a black turtleneck with an unzipped royal-blue winter coat. And he topped it off with a smile, a blinding, unbelievable smile that nearly did me in.
He leaned in conspiratorially, and I got a whiff of his cologne. He smelled as good as he looked. His glacier-blue eyes were full of intensity and fun, and I wanted to sit and stare into them all day. “I’ve been told I’m very charming.”
I didn’t doubt it. I would never have admitted it out loud, but I was very charmed. Like I was the snake and he was playing a hypnotizing tune that only I could hear.
And I didn’t like the way that made me feel.
Plus, I had to consider reality in this situation. No way could this guy really be hitting on me. He probably dated supermodels and I . . . didn’t date at all. Like, ever. He was so out of my league.
I’d never been so tongue-tied before. I was typically handy with the quips and comebacks. But I couldn’t respond. I had to look away from him and back at my book. The words on the page swam around in front of me, and I was unable to focus on a single one. I needed him to leave so I could regain my equilibrium. “Nothing personal. Italian men don’t do it for me.”
I was the lyingest liar who ever lied.
“How fortunate for me then that I am Monterran.” He had a deep, rumbly, smooth voice that felt like honey and laughter mixed together. I wasn’t immune, and he hadn’t been kidding. He really was disgustingly charming.
My mouth twitched, wanting to smile. I turned a page, pretending to be entranced. I was on Christmas break, I reminded myself. I was here in Monterra to ski with Lemon. It was the last time we would be together before getting our master’s degrees in a few months. I had priorities and plans, and SuperHottie was not on the list.
And if I were being truly honest—he kind of scared me. A guy like that would have expectations, and I wasn’t like other girls.
“I’m Nico, by the way.”
“That’s nice for you.”
But he again failed to parse out the subtext here (and I wasn’t being very subtextual). Short of blatantly telling him to get lost, what else could I do? Would I have to be rude? Because instead of realizing that I was a lost cause, he laughed. He laughed and it did funny things to my insides. I wanted to laugh with him. And crawl into his lap and beg him to be mine.
“And you are?” he prompted.
“Still not interested.” It was becoming a bigger lie as time passed. If some other guy had pursued me this way, I would have thought it was creepy and called for security to have him escorted off the mountain. Instead, I secretly hoped he would keep talking to me.
I thought he’d finally gotten the message as an entire minute of silence passed between us before he reached over to look at my book’s spine to see the title. I gulped in response—his hands were large and masculine, and I wondered how his long fingers would feel interlaced with mine.
I shook my head and let out a shaky breath. I had gone seriously crazy. Like jumping-on-Oprah’s-couch crazy.
“Macbeth? I would have guessed Romeo and Juliet.”
I couldn’t help myself. I had to look at him. “Two fifteen-year-olds who kill themselves in the name of love after only knowing each other for three days? No thanks.”
That smile. He was killing me. “You don’t find it romantic?”
“I don’t find anything romantic about suicide.”
“You don’t think love at first sight is romantic?” he persisted.
I’d never believed such a thing possible before this moment, but now I was sort of getting where Romeo had been coming from. Nico was literally the most handsome man I’d ever met in real life. If anyone could convince me to believe in love at first sight, he was the guy.
“Nope,” I finally managed. He smiled like he didn’t believe me.
“Nico! Andiamo!”
Nico looked over his shoulder at a group of guys who were waving and calling out to him. He shouted something back to them, and they headed out the door, hooting and hollering as they went.
He stood up. He was taller than I’d first thought. Yummy tall. Way taller than me tall, and that wasn’t easy to find. “How long will you be in Monterra?”
It was such a personal question my gut reaction was to tell him to mind his own business, but to my surprise, I found myself saying, “For the next couple of weeks.”
“May I see your phone?”
I didn’t actually own a cell phone. I could barely afford food.
“No phone, and I’m not phone adjacent.”
Nico smiled again, and I wanted to melt into my chair. He reached inside his coat, pulled out a small white business card, and handed it to me. “If you do ever find yourself adjacent to a phone while you’re here, please call. I would love to take you to dinner before you leave.”
When I reached out he took my hand and turned it over, leaning down to kiss my knuckles. A lightning arc exploded inside my hand and zoomed around my entire body, all the way down to my toenails. I might have gasped, but I decided to pretend that I would never do something so lame.
He straightened back up to put the card in my shaking hand, closing my fingers around it. “I look forward to your call,” he said as he walked backward toward the exit. “Ciao, bella.”
He left and it took my eyes a second to adjust. Like I’d been staring at the sun and now had third-degree burns on my retinas. Who did that? Who just kissed people’s hands like that? This wasn’t the fifteenth century. So weird. And exciting. But weird.
The business card was white and thick. Obviously expensive. There was only a series of numbers, presumably his telephone number. I flipped the card over. Blank. Who had a card without a name on it? Just their phone number?
I’d tell you who. A guy who kissed your hand.
I closed my book and put it on the coffee table in front of me. I looked at the card again, turning it over a couple of times as I considered my decision.
I didn’t need this while I was here. And I couldn’t let Lemon see it or she’d hogtie me and force me to call him. I was here to relax, forget about my school troubles, and enjoy time with my best friend. Boys were not part of the equation.
A massive fire burned in the fireplace across the room. Decision made, I walked over and before I could change my mind, threw the card into the fire.
And informed myself that I absolutely, totally and completely did not regret it.

Synopsis:
AN OUTLAW’S OBSESSION RUNS FURIOUS, DEEP, AND FOREVER…

CHRISTA

Hell always screams into my life on two wheels – so why the hell does he look like heaven? Rabid’s nothing like the other vicious thugs in the Grizzlies Motorcycle Club. When I see the dark ink dancing on his stunning body, I almost believe he’s here to save me, instead of just seduce me.

But I won’t be fooled again. All the club brings is ruin, and they’re back to give me more.

Sure, Rabid saved me once. Doesn’t mean I’ll get closer and dig my grave deeper, no matter how nice his rough hands would feel locked around my waist. Angels never kiss like devils, right?

RABID

I can’t get her outta my skull. My brothers say she’s like broken glass, but they don’t know she’s already lodged in my heart.

She’s tense, suspicious, and totally scared. I’m gonna find out why. Secrets don’t mean a damned thing if she’s in danger.

Christa’s mine. I don’t care if my patch makes her flip, or even if she keeps breathing fire my way every second we’re together. I’m the best thing that ever walked into her life, and I’m not walking out.

I’ll bleed rivers to get my brand on this woman. She’s gonna wear it and get used to calling me her old man. I'll have my lips all over this redhead knockout if it's the last thing I do...

Excerpt:
Christa
Jesus, he was so hard. The thick, throbbing lump in Rabid's pants was a terrible distraction. I should've spit in his face for inserting himself into my life like this, totally uninvited, but all I really wanted to do was drop to my knees and feel his cock in my mouth.

His eyes burned fiercer than the stars overhead. When my eyes caressed his body, I imagined what his tattoos looked like underneath his clothes. Those big black stripes on his arms probably rolled all the way up, lining the fearsome icons on his chest like all the other bikers I'd seen shirtless.

This body invited questions, filthy curiosities and wonders and bathed my brain in fire.

Would he look more ferocious than the roaring bear inked on his chest when he fucked me? Would I suck his tattooed skin into my mouth and bite down hard when I came? Jesus, would I ever stand up again if I gave in to one night with this dark Adonis pretending to be a man?

Half the guys in the Redding Grizzlies charter were younger, harder, and hotter than most of the old bastards and greasy criminals who'd visited my bar in Klamath. Without the leather cut and a few less scars on his arms, the man with his hands sliding up my back would've looked like an underwear model.

But no pretty boy modeling ever smelled like this. I couldn't stop inhaling him, and that only made my breaths more erratic, betraying the insane desire I was desperate to hide.

No! I couldn't actually let him see how hot he made me. But I couldn't stop myself from shaking when I pushed my face into his chest and inhaled, filling my lungs with badly needed oxygen.

Pure masculinity caressed my nose. His feel, his smell, his everything burned deep, melting me from the inside-out.

My body understood, even if my mind didn't. This was a warrior man right down to every molecule. Loyal to his club, comrade to his brothers, ready to serve and protect me when I wanted none of it. Also, more than ready to slip inside me, making my body shake and scream in ways I'd never even heard of.

Fuck.

Synopsis:
I promised myself I’d stay away from dangerous men, but I couldn’t live up to that when Kyle Andrews came back to town. He’s a manipulator, a guy who’ll do whatever it takes to get what he wants, sabotaging anyone who gets in the way. After a fatal fight left him wounded, his UFC career comes to a close. He has nothing, but he’s determined to get it all back.

My name is Megan. I’ve known violence, pain, and what it feels like to be scared to live another day. All of that changed the moment I refused to be a victim. Now that my psychotic ex, Alex, can’t find me, I’ve been given a second chance. I owe my life to my friends. The same goes for Kyle. Without him, I wouldn’t be able to feel.

Everyone hates him. But for the life of me I don’t. There’s something about him I can’t ignore. Being with Kyle makes me want it all. However, in loving a hated man, I didn’t know it’d bring the life I fled from back to haunt me. Everywhere I go danger lurks and bad things happen. Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Samantha Connelly has been on the run since she was seven years old. Forced into Witness Protection after her father saw something he shouldn’t has caused her to learn to blend in. She’s moved, changed her name, and her appearance more times than she can count over the last nineteen years all along wondering if it will ever end. Her handler, Kevin, along with her parents have assured her that it won’t be forever, but as the years tick by she’s slowly given up hope that she’ll ever be normal.

Now at 26, Sam has moved to Chicago and is working at The Rusty Nail as a bartender calling herself Mallory. Her father passed away two years before leaving her to finish what he started…put away the ‘bad guys’. Living on the run in hiding has been harder than she ever imagined, and finding love has always been out of the question. Who would want to be with someone they couldn’t be honest with? She’s resigned herself to being alone, until… Brian walks in.

Brian Sellers is everything Sam has been trying to avoid her entire life. He’s clad in leather and torn jeans, donning several tattoos…all-in-all a bad boy. When their eyes connect one evening, everything she’s ever told herself falls to the wayside as an indescribable draw pulls her to him. He’s sexy and domineering, and something about him reminds her of a boy she used to know.

The more time she spends with Brian, the more she wants him, but…Brian is not everything he seems to be. When Sam happens to see the tat on his wrist, the same tat that her father saw all those years ago, she realizes she’s flirting with the enemy. Brian has no idea that he’s hanging out with the one girl his boss wants dead.

Can Sam hide her identity from the first man she’s had real feelings for? What will Brian do when he finds out who she really is? Can love really conquer all?

This book contains profanity and graphic sexual situations. It may not be appropriate for readers under the age of 17.

My Review:
When Samantha was only a girl, her dad witnessed a crime, the people who committed the crime didn’t intend to leave a survivors but Samantha’s dad was able to hide except that they were now after him and his family. For years Samantha and her family lived in protection, moving from town to town changing their names and never attaching themselves to anyone or anything. But years later Samantha is now going by the name Mallory and tends bar at a local dive bar in walks Brian, sexy, mysterious and desperate for Mallory’s attention but he could be on the wrong side.

I get the statement here, Samantha/Mallory is on the run and cannot get attached to anyone. Brian is the sexy biker/bad boy, it started out fine but I did not think the story was executed properly. I needed more character development, lack thereof led me to not really grow attached to either main character and therefore I had a harder time following with their fast paced relationship, it was somewhat flat for me. The story really began to kick up at the end and the cliffhanger will really get you wondering where the story will go next, so I’m not sure how much you could build on there. Brian is not who or what we thought he was and because of that there may be some more potential here could build on the story line.
